Welcome
Hi, I’m Susan
You may be wondering . . . is Lifeticity a word?
Not actually. But I can explain.
If everything we do leads us to where we are, then my story began quite a few years ago, back in my tiny NYC apartment. I’d always been a magazine junkie, devouring as many as I could afford each month. Some were cooking magazines and some were lifestyle. But none of them were both. So, I decided to start a cooking lifestyle newsletter to put my spin on recipes tailored to holidays, everyday living, and the season.
All good things come to an end
Since all this was before email, A Mailable Feast was printed and mailed to subscribers. My sister did layout and design, and my amazing friend group came over every month and folded and taped and stamped each issue for mailing. Sadly, this labor intensive model encroached too heavily on real life, i.e., paying the rent. A Mailable Feast ceased publication, and I returned my attention to my three college teaching positions, freelance projects and fiction writing.
Although that was the end of my barely-breaking-even newsletter, I never stopped thinking about it. Not once I got married, had three amazing kids, one dog, and moved four times in the span of five years.

The truth?
Here’s my truth: No matter what you believe is going to happen in your life, some of it doesn’t. And sometimes things more horrible than you’d let yourself imagine, do. In both cases, you’re left with only two options: Give up or don’t. Reinventing your next is something anyone 45+ has surely faced. The key? Believing there’s no end to reinvention, and knowing it’s worth the journey.
You can’t change the past but you most certainty have a real opportunity to create your next chapter. The change you may never have wanted could be leading you down a path you couldn’t have imagined. And this path might land you exactly where you’re supposed to be. The trick is to never stop learning, trying, failing, and getting back up. Always be exploring what’s next.

Finally
The answer to the question? Lifeticity. My publishing path may have begun with A Mailable Feast, but this chapter is Founder + Chief Creator of Lifeticity, your place for inspiration on how to continue to live your best possible life. And the best part? None of it requires folding, taping, or mailing!

Where this all began
My love of cooking began at a young age when my grandma taught me cooking was part art. She’d say, “Measure the vanilla, then add another glug for good measure.” My mom tended more toward the science and precision of cooking, and was a ‘gourmet’ before the term was everywhere. From these women, I learned the essentials. There are times improv works, and times it’s best to follow the rules. Knowing the difference may just be the key to not only being a good cook, but also creating a good life.
